WUST Professor Helps Lead CIMA 2026
Washington University of Science and Technology contributed academic leadership to the 2nd Congress on Intelligent Machines and Algorithms, organized by the National Institute of Technology Puducherry on May 23-24, 2026.
Prof. Touhid Bhuiyan of WUST served as one of the General Chairs. He joined Dr. Malaya Kumar Nath of NIT Puducherry, Prof. Mukesh Saraswat of Jaypee Institute of Information Technology, and Prof. Amar Kishor of Magadh University in supporting the event's academic direction and international research engagement.
International Academic Service
WUST's involvement reflects the university's commitment to supporting peer-reviewed research communities, interdisciplinary exchange, and partnerships with institutions working at the forefront of artificial intelligence.
Conference Program
Technically sponsored by the Soft Computing Research Society, the two-day hybrid congress brought together researchers, scientists, faculty members, students, and industry professionals working in intelligent machines, algorithms, and applied artificial intelligence.
The event opened at NIT Puducherry with an inauguration ceremony and a hybrid plenary session. Prof. Angeline Radjou discussed challenges and opportunities for artificial intelligence in healthcare, while Dr. Subathra Adithan of JIPMER examined research opportunities for AI in radiology. Ashish M. Gujrathi of Sultan Qaboos University presented a keynote on evolutionary and soft-computing approaches to intelligent industrial-process optimization.
Research Areas
Intelligent Perception
Computer vision, pattern recognition, medical imaging, biomedical engineering, and sensor-driven systems.
Machine Intelligence
Machine learning, predictive analytics, generative AI, intelligent control, and optimization.
Autonomous Technologies
Robotics, autonomous vehicles, smart infrastructure, industrial systems, and Internet of Things applications.
Secure Digital Systems
Cybersecurity, blockchain, cloud systems, trustworthy computing, and resilient digital infrastructure.
A Broad Hybrid Program
CIMA 2026 featured 44 numbered technical sessions delivered through a combination of in-person presentations, Google Meet, and Zoom. This structure enabled extensive participation while maintaining an on-campus academic program at NIT Puducherry.
