WUST Engages in a Global Forum on Business, Sustainability, and Inclusive Growth

Washington University of Science and Technology (WUST) is an institutional partner of the International Conference on Business Innovation for Inclusive Development (ICBIID 2026), a multidisciplinary international conference bringing together academics, researchers, professionals, policymakers, students, and industry leaders to explore the most pressing questions at the intersection of business innovation and global inclusive development.

The International Conference on Business Innovation for Inclusive Development, organized by the Faculty of Business Studies (FBS) in collaboration with the Center for Research and Publication (CRP) at the International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC), aims to bring together academics, researchers, professionals, policymakers, and students from around the world. ICBIID 2026 promotes scholarly exchange across diverse business disciplines such as Management, Marketing, Accounting, Finance, Human Resource Management, Supply Chain, Entrepreneurship, Technology, Corporate Governance, and Islamic Finance.

Key Objectives

The key objectives are to encourage quality research, explore emerging global trends, strengthen interdisciplinary collaboration, and empower early-career scholars. With a strong emphasis on innovation and inclusivity, the conference aspires to generate impactful insights and foster sustainable solutions for future-ready businesses.

Conference Objectives

  • Bring researchers, academics, and practitioners together who are actively engaged in both theoretical and practical aspects of business innovation and inclusive development
  • Encourage original research papers for publication consideration

Themes and Research Tracks

ICBIID 2026 is structured across six major thematic tracks, each covering a distinct and vital dimension of business innovation:

  • Theme 1: Sustainable Development and Inclusive Growth
    Covering business for sustainable development, circular economy and resource efficiency, green financing and sustainable investment, climate finance and business strategy, the blue economy, halal financing and inclusive growth, microfinance, women entrepreneurship and empowerment, SMEs and entrepreneurship development, and inclusive education and human capital development.
  • Theme 2: Management, HRM and Organizational Behaviour
    Addressing strategic talent management in global organizations, organizational resilience and crisis leadership, cross-cultural management in international business, sustainable and ethical leadership, HR analytics, green HRM, and organizational behaviour and culture.
  • Theme 3: Digitalization, Technology and Innovation
    Exploring digital transformation and technology in business, financial technology and digital financial inclusion, artificial intelligence and automation in business processes, the future of auditing in the age of AI and blockchain, digital marketing, and services and marketing innovation.
  • Theme 4: Finance, Islamic Finance, Corporate Governance and Accountability
    Covering green finance and ESG reporting, corporate social responsibility, corporate governance and restructuring, financial reporting and disclosures, sustainability accounting standards, Islamic accounting and auditing, innovations in Islamic banking and finance, Zakat, Waqf and social finance, and Shari'ah governance and compliance in financial institutions.
  • Theme 5: Marketing and Supply Chain Management
    Addressing halal marketing and marketing ethics, marketing communication and branding, consumer behaviour and decision-making, sustainability marketing and green consumerism, sustainable supply chain management and green logistics, and tourism and destination marketing.
  • Theme 6: Emerging and Interdisciplinary Areas
    A cross-cutting track spanning creativity and innovation across marketing, management, finance, accounting, economics, entrepreneurship, HR, and strategy, as well as the gig economy and its intersection with HR, entrepreneurship, and public policy.

Keynote and Invited Speakers

Global Representation

ICBIID 2026 features distinguished keynote and invited speakers from different parts of the world, including the USA, Europe, the Middle East, South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Australia, including the Dean of the College of Administrative and Financial Sciences at Gulf University, Kingdom of Bahrain; the Deputy Dean for Research and Innovation of the Faculty of Leadership and Management at University Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM); faculty from UC Business School, University of Canterbury, New Zealand; the Director of the Research and Publication Cell at the University of Chittagong, Bangladesh; and faculty from the Department of Business Administration at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), Bangladesh.

Publication

Dual Publication Pathway

Accepted papers are submitted for inclusion into the IIUC Business Review, a research journal of the Faculty of Business Studies, and IIUC Studies, a multidisciplinary journal, subject to meeting the journals' scope and quality requirements. Papers are also considered for publication in SCOPUS and ESCI (ISI) indexed journals.

This dual publication pathway, in established institutional journals and internationally indexed databases, ensures that research presented at ICBIID 2026 reaches both the regional business scholarship community and the global academic network.
